Membership Framework

Purpose of Membership Framework

The purpose of this framework is to establish a clear, inclusive, and transparent mechanism for identifying, admitting, and engaging members of the Microfinance Forum (MFF). Membership is aimed at strengthening coordination, dialogue, advocacy, and innovation among all players in Uganda’s microfinance and financial inclusion ecosystem.

Guiding Principles

Membership in the MFF is guided by the following principles:

  • Inclusivity and Equity: Every stakeholder in the financial inclusion space, regardless of size, legal form, or geographic reach, is eligible to participate.
  • Transparency and Accountability: A fair, documented process will govern membership admission and participation.
  • Value and Engagement: Members must derive value and also commit to the Forum’s goals, values, and activities.

Membership Categories

Full Membership

These are organizations with a fully registered legal status, in the financial inclusion space, and have operational presence in Uganda. NB:

  • Representatives from the organizations must be from the Board or Senior Management
  • The financial institutions must be members of a sector association

Associate Membership

(Legal Status not applicable)

These may not be legal entities but individuals or community organizations that are actively engaged in the sector and align with the forum’s mission, vision, and core values.
