Melch Muhame Natukunda is a Senior Financial Inclusion Advisor at CARE Uganda, where he leads the development and delivery of the Country Office Financial Inclusion Strategy, aligning it with national priorities and CARE’s global vision.
He works to expand equitable access to financial services for women, youth, and marginalized communities by strengthening locally led partnerships, fostering public-private collaboration, championing digital solutions such as digital savings platforms and credit profiling, and advocating for policies that protect savings and promote resilience. Gender-responsive approaches remain central to his work, ensuring that women and vulnerable groups are not only included but empowered.
Beyond CARE, Melch is a Member of the Microfinance Forum and Chair of its Subcommittee on Lobby, Advocacy and Policy. In this role, he contributes to the Forum’s efforts to drive inclusive finance for impact, helping to shape the policy environment in which Uganda’s microfinance sector operates.
